Paying for Dick
Fully one-third of the $3.9 billion per month cost of keeping U.S. troops in Iraq is going directly to Halliburton. A pretty good return on an investment of $630,000 or so to the Republican party. Whatever Dick Cheney says, he has a financial interest in Halliburton. And I bet his buddies do too. Duh... While we working folks grow poorer. If any one of that 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue bunch told me it was dark out and my watch read midnight; I'd still go outside to check...

Consider this piece just a ramble I've gone on while wearing my tinfoil hat; better yet, C'mon, join me. We may be late in touching on these subjects, but better late than never, and anyway, we're in good company. We have a right to know. Would we even be in Iraq if Mr Bush and his neocon hawks had not taken advantage of the Pearl Harbor-esque quality of that infamous September morning? Their PNAC laid a blueprint out years ago. Cheney called for it in 1992 . Stop and think about the inconsistencies of "the Company line" concerning 9/11, you'll probably also add a pair of barn boots to your investigative ensemble. Better yet, waders. The "official" line of crap is deep... The little we are told about Osama Bin Laden stinks too.
"Moreover, as America becomes an increasingly multi-cultural society, it may find it more difficult to fashion a consensus on foreign policy issues, except in the circumstance of a truly massive and widely perceived direct external threat."--THE GRAND CHESSBOARD -- American Primacy And It's Geostrategic Imperatives," Zbigniew Brzezinski, Basic Books, 1997.
Remember, this is not an exclusively Republican versus Democrat situation. It is not a "sports team" situation, it is about power and money, about control. On the world stage. For we regular folks it is about decency, truth, a livable world. For an example, look at Enron- just about the whole House and Senate had their pockets lined. And regular folks, workers, retiree's lost out. About one third of the 3.9 billion going to fund the U.S occupation of Iraq goes straight to Dick Cheney's old company Halliburton. Money and control. Ask yourself who has benefited from 9/11, from the elusive Osama. Follow the money
Mr Bush has publicly told America that there is no evidence linking Saddam Hussein and 9/11.
What is the truth about Osama Bin Laden? (Osamagate?)
I think that a majority of Americans are unaware that Osama Bin Laden agreed to a plan to turn himself over to Islamic authorities in Pakistan before the US bombed Afghanistan.
The proposal, which had bin Laden's approval, was that within the framework of Islamic shar'ia law evidence of his alleged involvement in the New York and Washington attacks would be placed before an international tribunal.
The court would decide whether to try him on the spot or hand him over to America. The secret deal was agreed after a meeting in Islamabad on Saturday at which Mulla Abdus Salaam Zaeef, the Taliban ambassador to Pakistan, and Hamid Gul, former director of Pakistan's inter-service intelligence, and Qazi were present. Justice not vengeance gives a fuller view of diplomacy concerning trying Bin Laden. OK, people may call me the Devil's advocate, but were "We the People" ever shown proof that Bin Laden was the mastermind behind the heinous events of September 11? Here is the introduction to the Bush/Blair Whitepaper implicating Bin Laden and Al Qaida:
This document does not purport to provide a prosecutable case against Usama Bin Laden in a court of law. Intelligence often cannot be used evidentially, due both to the strict rules of admissibility and to the need to protect the safety of sources. But on the basis of all the information available HMG is confident of its conclusions as expressed in this document.
After all we have learned from the pattern of lying Bush and Blair resorted to get their citizens to acede to their demands for war in Iraq, after seeing Bush and his administration's continued efforts to thwart an adequate investigation of the circumstances surrounding 9/11 and their reaction to the attack I have trouble buying the company line.
"Had I known that the enemy was going to use airplanes to kill on that fateful morning," he said, "I would have done everything in my power to protect the American people." -- G.W Bush
So what was this exercise reported December 2000 simulating an airplane hitting the Pentagon? Have you forgotten the July 2001 Phoenix memo as well as the August 6 CIA briefing among the other documented warnings you and your administration received? A couple of folks were IM'ed about the immanent attacks, a couple hours before the first plane hit. it seems John Ashcroft had some warning that kept him from flying on commercial aircraft since July of 2001. Le Figaro, the respected French Newspaper owned by the Caryle group reports that the CIA met with bin Laden while he was hospitalized at American Hospital in Dubai. Could that be why Ashcroft knew not to fly commercial?
Are you being shown yet again to be a liar Mr Bush? Why doesn't more of the media ask you these questions, allowing you to set the record straight? "We the People" deserve the truth. Justice should be served. My guess: Either Osama Bin Laden will be found or there will be another horrible 9/11 type disaster a month before the Presidential election; some sort of smokescreen to allow the current White House resident to stay in office. A mega power failure could put us in endless "code red"... Edward Said has Died
"The situation of the Palestinian is that of a victim," Mr. Said told Dinitia Smith in New York magazine in 1989, making the kind of statement that put him at the center of the roiling debate about the Middle East.
"They're the dispossessed, and what they do by way of violence and terrorism is understandable," he said. " But what the Israelis do, in killing Palestinians on a much larger scale, is a continuation of the horrific and unjust dispossession of the Palestinian people."
He added: "'I totally repudiate terrorism in all its forms. Not just Palestinian terrorism — I'm also against Israeli terrorism, the bombing of refugee camps."

The theme of the report is that while credit card use is frequently associated with frivolous consumption, the evidence seems to show that more and more Americans are using credit cards to bridge the difficult gap between household earnings and the cost of essential goods and services. Men and women struggling with such structural problems as job displacement, declining real wages and rising housing and health care costs have been relying on their credit cards as a way of warding off complete disaster.
At the same time the credit card companies have leapt gleefully into an orgy of exploitation. "Late fees," the report said, "have become the fastest growing source of revenue for the industry, jumping from $1.7 billion in 1996 to $7.3 billion in 2002. Late fees now average $29, and most cards have reduced the late payment grace period from 14 days to zero days. In addition to charging late fees, the major credit card companies use the first late payment as an excuse to cancel low, introductory rates — often making a zero percent card jump to between 22 and 29 percent."
Read "Borrowing to Make Ends Meet" (.pdf file). It will illuminate the phenomenon of Credit Card Loan Sharking if you yourself are one of the few Americans not a TechnoSerf, not carrying a debt load or suffering the unregulated world of credit, a world where the word "usury" lies dormant in postmodern irrelevance. Consider your place in the Government/Corporate World Order. Are you one of the 88% of Americans reaping less than 100 dollars from the much vaunted latest Bush Tax cuts? Or are you a Bush Pioneer or Ranger?
Trickle down alright, Mr Bush represents an elite pissing on you and me, working class America. ( please read that last link- it will have you reading the others...)
