Hmmm, blogspot still not working... Or is it bloggerpro- eeesh whatever the case....

Funny thing- seems as if there is a hangtime between post/publish and actually hitting the flowing waves of cyberspace, being accessible... hmmmm. Was thinking that the whole "rheingoldian" virtual reality/community cyber lollapullooza pushed in the early 90's thrives on the fact that time, in cyberspace is a non-entity, its properties ceased to apply... smoke and mirrors like the whole dotcom business thing. Cool sales pitch though- much like that turd George Gelder talking about how 'broadband' was going to save the world- sure, it will help folks with disposable income shop and allow corporations to sling crap around the world with less overhead ; broadband is not going to fill an empty plate, make someone wihout shelter warm... Snakeoil for the masses... If you like that one can I sell you the one about liberating Iraq... Snake ol for the masses, oil riches for the few- and by golly if they are not thoroughly entwined with our Government. Go figure....

Happy New Year
A quick (and hope filled) rant:
A modest attempt to add to the general discourse by serving up interesting links dealing with pertinent issues that are not covered in mainstream News infotainment pr blasts There is a phenomenally large web presence of conscious caring individuals out here in cyberspace, reflecting our dreams and vision in the real world - not the violence and fear driven world of media drama; served up along with least common denominator fart jokes and t&a punctuated with commercial inanity calling we lemmings to buy buy buy, as captivated passive spectators, that comprises nightly commercial fare for too many of us- but a vital network of individuals sharing snapshots of our lives and the information about our world and American reality that inspires or pisses us off, that color our days and figures into our dreams of a world that lives up to what we were taught it can be: a world ruled by integrity and decency, where the goals of social justice that we were told America was built on are more than wordy aspirations consigned to a corner with a wink and a nod in a Corporate boardroom, in the highest executive office in our land... Sharing information allows us to "ignore the man behind the curtain" and rise to the promise that is Democracy, to realize our common Dream... It is what we share, what we do that demonstrates our humanity. Why watch TV when you can beTV - more or less...

"Fascism should more properly be called corporatism, since it is the merger of state and corporate power"
-Benito Mussolini

"The liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than their democratic state itself. That, in its essence, is fascism- ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or any controlling private power." -Franklin Delano Roosevelt

"As Mankind becomes more liberal, they will be more apt to allow that all those who conduct themselves as worthy members of the community are equally entitled to the protections of civil government. I hope ever to see America among the foremost nations of justice and liberality." -George Washington

"The care of human life and happiness, and not their destruction, is the first and only object of good government."

"Whenever the people are well-informed, they can be trusted with their own government."
-Thomas Jefferson
