Banana Republic, Here?
Over at NarcoNews one can see that Mr Chavez is, against the will of all corporate owned media, the popular leader of Venezuela, the peoples champion- much as FDR was the president of the people while the popular media talked him down. Turning up the volume of the Republican operatives stymieing the vote count here in 2001, in Venezuela guns are being used to scare (and kill) in an effort to thwart Democracy- again, the FTAA Florida experience turned up from rubber bullets to lead ones- on folks wanting to weigh in on their countries policy are being shot there.
What will our November elections bring?
Mr Bush's installation as President four years ago should be a warning. Again, those greedy corporate folks NEED to win. At what will they stop? Mr Kerry as Bush-Lite doesn't seem to be enough for them. He does have a good environmental voting record; he may cut into the bottom line. Anybody But Bush is the course dejour among "We the People". In a country so split along idealogical lines, will they settle for the will of the people against the failed policies of the failed incumbent "Wartime President" ? As it will cost the entrenched corporate elite much power I'm afraid not. Democracy does not serve their needs. Our highly polarized populace is easily manipulated by the media...
It can't happen here? It has, without the outward violence. Remember Election 2000. The Banana Republicans are hungry. And we are lunch, you and me, the little people that float our nation along, day by day, doing our jobs and living our "little" lives.

I edited this badly written piece just a bit for clarity
