If you have been stopping by here for a while you'll know I have little sympathy for former Representitive and governor of South Dakota William Janklow.
In the interest of fairness though I need to mention when he speaks with honesty, and admirably, since I have worked to get the truth about his character to light a bunch at this site.
SIOUX FALLS — Former U.S. Rep. Bill Janklow broke his months-long silence Tuesday and broke — or at least bent — Ronald Reagan's 11th commandment not to
speak ill of fellow Republicans. The former South Dakota attorney general, governor and congressman criticized the GOP's Victory operation, saying it has introduced scandal into an otherwise honest voting system by breaking election rules.
"These people are cheating," he said in a telephone interview."When you tamper with it, you cheat the system. And cheating in elections is the worst form of cancer because it's uncontrollable."The Victory program is funded in part by the national Republican Party and run by the state party to help candidates.
Mr Janklow has repeatedly evinced the worst of what it is to be an American, a human, for crying out loud, in his personal as well as his political life; but here he is spot on right.
Paul Krugman weighs in on GOP efforts to suppress democracy in his Times article "Block the Vote".
