Keep Heart
Kerry concedes.
With all the reported voting irregularities and "dirty tricks" surrounding this election I am surprised that Mr Kerry has folded so quickly; the Voter Alert Line offered by Common Cause has recieved over 51,000 calls as of 7:49 this morning from every state in the union... I am reflecting on the advice offered at BlackBoxVoting.Org:
Candidates: Make a statement. Do not concede on Election Night. Wait until audits and records can be examined.
This would be a good time for Mr Kerry to put the whole electronic voting issue at the forefront of electoral politics, doing a service for all Americans, I have seen citings indicating that states with e-voting show a greater discrepancy between exit polls and the election results we are being offered; while I'm not asking you to strap on a tinfoil beanie I am offering food for thought, for consideration; I'm guessing over the next few days we'll see more on this subject.
We progressive folks need to keep heart, to keep working on getting the truth about the present regime into light while working toward our goals that will make America a country that lives up to its promise. The Bush administration may control the government but it is an edifice built of lies and deception.
Because I have a bit of vitriol stored up and would like to loose it, get back in equalibrium I offer this flash animation (contains adult language)
OK, so it offers a guilty chuckle. Life is too important to get so serious about. Keep heart. Do what's right.
