Fascism should more
properly be called corporatism since it is
the merger of
state and corporate power

Linking Thoughts

Are you familiar with the twenty-second ammendment to our Constitution?

Why would there be a move to repeal it?

"FBI Whistleblower: White Supremacists Are Major Domestic Terrorist Threat", I link to the Democracy Now! transcript page where the audio is also available. How do you define "Terrorist"?

One last link that lassoes this entry together: George E. Lowe: Can "It" Happen Here? Hasn't "It" Already? A Fascist Christian America Strong word, 'Fascism", perhaps to follow Mussolini's lead we should use the less controversial term 'Corporatism". I have Theocracy Watch easily accessible in the sidebar; go look there, see how Christian Conservative voting toes the Corporate line- lots of cash flow there for the legislators as well as the Christian Right organizations, courtesey of "Big Business."

And how about Mr Bush wanting to attack Iraq- to "prove" himself and get out of Poppy's shadow:

"He was thinking about invading Iraq in 1999," said author and journalist Mickey Herskowitz. "It was on his mind. He said to me: 'One of the keys to being seen as a great leader is to be seen as a commander-in-chief.' And he said, 'My father had all this political capital built up when he drove the Iraqis out of Kuwait and he wasted it.' He said, 'If I have a chance to invadeĀ·.if I had that much capital, I'm not going to waste it. I'm going to get everything passed that I want to get passed and I'm going to have a successful presidency." Herskowitz said that Bush expressed frustration at a lifetime as an underachiever in the shadow of an accomplished father. In aggressive military action, he saw the opportunity to emerge from his father's shadow.
