What Would MLK Do?
Martin Luther King Day seems a fitting time to break my blog fast.
I use this page as a portal to get my daily news fix, but have been coming up short when it comes to having good news to share/link.
Habeas Corpus- gone. "Signing Statements" are effectively taking the legislature out of the governmental mix. Mr Bush claims to be a "unitary executive", a term not found in our Constitution; a term that brings to mind a Mussolini or a Hitler, not the President of the United States. I could go on and on...
The war under Mr Bush stumbles on, even escalates. Where are the Democratic Party alternatives to the failed GOP policies that got our nation this far down the road to economic, military and moral ruin?
I have been seeing the political world in a less than positive light. There seems to be little difference between the actions of the two major political parties in this country.
The media blah blah blah's on, telling us what to think.
On the average, folks don't seem to actively care. Our media diet paints us as powerless.
I'm hoping I'm wrong.
Bring the Mandate for Peace to Washington DC on Jan. 27
Honor the man, Martin Luther King. Honor our nation. Honor yourself, your children, their kids.
Loud and proud, speak out.
